1. Agreement
By engaging Hachiko Labs for any service — including a Discovery Sprint, MVP Build, or Engineering Retainer — you agree to these Terms & Conditions. These terms govern the relationship between you (“Client”) and Hachiko Labs (“we”, “us”).
2. Services
We offer three core services:
- Discovery Sprint ($2,500 flat) — 2-week technical roadmap and scoping engagement. No code. Pure strategy.
- MVP Build ($15,000 fixed) — Full product build from Discovery Sprint roadmap, delivered in 6–8 weeks.
- Engineering Retainer ($6,500/mo) — Ongoing embedded technical partnership for post-MVP founders. 3-month minimum, then month-to-month.
Scope, deliverables, and timelines for each engagement are agreed in writing before work begins.
3. Payment
All prices are in USD. Payment terms are agreed per engagement:
- Discovery Sprint — 100% due before work begins
- MVP Build — 50% deposit to begin; remaining 50% upon delivery
- Engineering Retainer — billed monthly in advance
Late payments may result in a pause of services. The Discovery Sprint fee is credited toward a subsequent MVP Build if started within 90 days.
4. Intellectual property
Upon receipt of full payment, you own 100% of all work product delivered — including all source code, design assets, documentation, and credentials. Hachiko Labs retains no license, claim, or rights over any deliverable once payment is complete. We may reference the project name and general outcomes as a case study unless you request otherwise in writing.
5. Client responsibilities
You agree to provide timely feedback, access to required accounts and credentials, and decisions needed to keep the project moving. Delays caused by late client input may extend the agreed timeline without additional charge to Hachiko Labs.
6. Cancellation and refunds
- Discovery Sprint — non-refundable once work has begun
- MVP Build — deposit is non-refundable; remaining balance only due on delivery
- Engineering Retainer — cancel or pause with 30 days written notice
7. Confidentiality
Both parties agree to keep confidential any non-public business information shared during the engagement. This includes product ideas, technical architecture, financial information, and client data. This obligation survives termination of the engagement.
8. Limitation of liability
Hachiko Labs' total liability for any claim arising from our services shall not exceed the total fees paid for the relevant engagement. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages. We make no guarantees regarding specific business outcomes, user acquisition, or investment results.
9. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved through good-faith negotiation before pursuing formal legal action.
